Someone else who's obsessed with Firefly? Why am I not really surprised...

Mike has been pining for that DVD since the show got cancelled. He's even got all the unaired episodes on his computer, and has saved the pilot movie on Tivo for months. At least it will be an easy Christmas present, if he can wait that long.

monstersocks and I really liked it but I didn't bother to save any of the shows on tape or the TiVo or anything. I was a bit surprised by it at first since I hadn't realized it was going to be a space western.

I played around with downloading some of the episodes but it was kind of a pain (and they take up a lot of disk space.) I stopped messing around with it once the DVDs were released since I'd prefer to see the higher quality official versions (and I can finally see it all in the proper order.)

I was surprised there wasn't a Firefly room party at CONvergence this year.

Heh, apparently your level of obsession is not as high as Mike's, I congratulate you. He was very disappointed that I heard about the DVD release before he did.

He's currently trying to turn his computer into another Tivo, with something Linux based. Not going very well, but it gives him soemthing to do.

Nope, not nearly that obsessed. I actually did the downloading more for monstersocks than for me. She was really sad when they cancelled it.

I'm also not nearly obsessed enough to try and make my own TiVo. I'm happy with my actual TiVos (a series 2 with service and a series 1 without.) Sounds like an interesting project though (and it'd be nice to be able to dump recorded content to DVD or whatever.)
