Halloween 2008- Captain Hammer
I know I live in Minnesota and I know that so far this has been something like the seventh snowiest February in recorded history (and we're not even halfway done yet) but I was still surprised by the size of the mound of snow in the Rosedale parking lot.

That little red blur on the left is a car driving by. The pile of snow is almost to the top of that light post.

The pile of snow is like three and a half buses tall.

I don't understand why they have equipment there to build a snow pile that big.

I know! And then they have the trucks that come and take the snow away. Where does it go?

Not sure if Roseville's snow goes to the same place as Saint Paul but I saw this quote in a strib article on the destruction of the ice palace.

The frozen rubble will be trucked to the High Bridge power plant about 2 miles south along the Mississippi River. That's where St. Paul snow removal crews dump snow and where the Ice Palace will melt away naturally.

We're gonna flood the Delta after this winter.

It's just construction equipment. Nothing that mysterious about it.

Yeah, but you need a lot more than a few plows to make a pile of snow that big.

There was probably hoisting.

Everybody grab a shovel! Let's make a snow fort!
