It looks like you can download content off of your TiVo without using the desktop software meaning it should be possible to download the files with a Mac, even though the lazy bastards don't support Macs yet. (This fixes half of the problem, unfortunately playback of the encrypted .tivo file doesn't work on Macs yet.)
