We Bought A House!
1st-Sep-2007 12:32 am
Halloween 2008- Captain Hammer
After many trials and tribulations we have finally purchased a house. We had the closing today and it went so smoothly that it was a little anti-climactic. Now all we have to do is move everything we own into it (and get new stuff that we haven't needed before).

2nd-Sep-2007 05:12 am (UTC) - Thanks!
It's in southern Longfellow, a few blocks from the river. Actually, according to the internet it's in the Hiawatha neighborhood in the Longfellow community, not the Longfellow neighborhood.

Tripod and a timer on the camera. Remember who you're dealing with here.

Congratulations! And to be honest, your new house does look a little bit like a hobbit house, all hidden and green and stuff!

Congratulations! But... it appears to be under attack from some kind of Doctor Who style plant monster. I've seen that episode. I recommend extreme caution.

Yeah. Plant monster will be going away. Plant monsters not good for siding.

We think it may be Boston Ivy. The internet suggests a slower removal plan than we had originally envisioned.

That's too bad. It's very pretty, and it sounds like it increases summertime efficiency. How does it damage the siding if it only uses adhesive pads? Does it harbor too much moisture next to the walls?
